British Cop Screaming at the Sky is an exploitable viral video clip of TikToker Lewis Saunderson (@Lewissaunderson38) dressed as a police officer, screaming and crying towards the sky while on his knees. The video was uploaded to TikTok in December 2023 and went viral on the app as a green screen and image macro format as an exaggerated reaction to something undesirable happening.

Origin

On December 17th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @lewissaunderson38, a TikToker known for his dramatic skits where he enacts hypothetical tragic scenarios such as the deaths of family members, posted a skit captioned "Police officer rushes to crime scene where his Daughter has been found." In the skit, dressed like a cop, he drops to his knees, screams at the sky and cries (shown below). The video gained over 7.8 million views in four days.

On December 19th, 2023, TikTokers began using the video in memes. For example, on that day, TikToker^[2] @glowie1984 posted the clip with the caption, "British people when you try to season their food," garnering over 800,000 views in two days (shown below, left). On the same day, TikToker^[3] @jay.too posted a version of the meme that gained over 200,000 views in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On December 20th, TikToker^[4] @chiefgreenscreens posted a green screen edit of the scene, garnering over 700,000 views in a day.
