About

Brazil NBA Twitter Accounts or Brasil NBA Twitter Accounts refers to multiple accounts on Twitter / X that are seemingly run by Brazilian fans of each professional basketball team in the NBA, including Timberwolves Brasil, Suns Brasil and Raptors Brasil, among others. The Brazilian NBA accounts grew a reputation on X for posting shock media such as a viral instance in October 2023 when the Timberwolves Brasil account posted a vore video to celebrate a Minnesota win. It's ultimately unclear if the accounts are parody or satire.

Origin

Timberwolves Brasil Vore Post

Cultural awareness of Brazil NBA accounts on X predominantly manifested on October 28th, 2023, when the X[1] account @twolvesbrazil posted a 3D-rendered video of a wolf trying to swallow a humanoid, likened to the fetish known as "vore." The post was uploaded to seemingly celebrate a Minnesota Timberwolves win. Over five days, the post received roughly 61,000 likes (screenshot shown below).

Spread

The post from @twolvesbrazil inspired viral reactions via replies and quote retweets in the days following. For instance, early on October 29th, 2023, X[2] user @LORAFRIMANEE quoted it, saying, "whoever made this needs to be locked up for life," gaining roughly 4,300 likes in four days (shown below, left). Soon after on October 30th, the official X[3] account of the Minnesota Timberwolves quoted with a disgusted Thanos reaction, gaining roughly 190,000 likes in three days (shown below, right).

On October 29th, 2023, the X[4] account @brasilwarriors_ posted a video of a fish sucking a phallic animal with a caption that translated to English, "Curry on the plane feeling itchy on his legs / Me under his blanket." The post gained roughly 11,000 likes in four days (shown below).

On October 30th, 2023, non-Brazilian Twitter users and fans of the NBA quote retweeted Golden State Warriors Brasil's post, such as X[5] user @oldnbatweetz who said, "NBA Brazil accounts gotta be studied cause there's no way these are real people," gaining roughly 52,000 likes in three days (shown below, left). Also, on October 30th, X[6] user @ayeejuju wrote, "brazilians some FREAKS," gaining roughly 26,000 likes in three days (shown below, right).

Inspired by the viral posts from Brazilian NBA accounts, the phenomenon in general gained its own posts, like a tweet sent by X[7] user @sadcrib on October 30th, 2023, which asked, "are brazil nba accounts good 😭," gaining roughly 130,000 likes in three days (shown below).
