Borat 2 Tonight Queen?? is an exploitable image macro of a text message exchange in which a person sends three messages in a row asking the recipient if they'll watch Borat 2 with them tonight. The image was originally posted to Twitter in September 2021 and became the subject of memes over the following years as people replaced "Borat 2" with new text via recaptioning.

Origin

On September 26th, 2021, Twitter^[1] user @anannathema posted a screenshot of three texts from someone asking if they'll watch Borat 2 with them that night, reading, "Borat 2 tonite 👀," "Borat 2 tonight queen??" and "Borat 2 tonite 👀" respectively, garnering over 26,500 likes in two years (shown below). This is the earliest known post of the meme.

Spread

The meme gained viral spread over the following weeks, including a repost by Instagram^[2] user beam_me_up_softboi on October 13th, 2021, garnering over 86,000 likes in two years, a repost by Twitter^[3] user @westernunion2k on October 20th, garnering over 39,800 likes in two years and a repost by Twitter^[4] user @ZEROSUlTSAMUS on November 4th, garnering over 74,000 likes in the same span of time. On November 14th, Instagram^[5] user ketamemequeen2 posted an edit of the meme where the settings app is texting the user asking them to update their software, garnering over 1,300 likes in two years (shown below). The software update meme also gained viral spread, including a December post by Instagram^[6] user trashcanpaul that gained over 65,000 likes in two years and a post by Facebook^[7] page Woken Memes that gained over 4,100 shares in the same span of time.

On March 13th, 2022, Twitter^[8] user @nickels97 posted a screenshot of a similar text exchange inspired by the original meme about Olive Garden, garnering over 83,600 likes in a year (shown below, left). On June 26th, 2023, Instagram^[9] user sweatymelon posted a version of the meme referencing the Grimace Shake, garnering over 1,700 likes in a day (shown below, right).

That day, Twitter^[10] user @Brittymigs posted a version of the meme that gained over 13,700 likes in a day (shown below).
