On January 4th, 2025, TikToker[1] @redriverredneck1993 posted a video where he sings, while standing in the woods, a song about being a blue-collar worker supporting his family. He sings, "My collar's blue but my neck is red. I been working like a dog just to keep my family fed." The video gained over 1.8 million views in eight months.


On September 17th, TikToker[2] @oli.outdoor posted a video containing a version of the song with instrumentation, calling it the "blue collar anthem," garnering over 426,000 views in nine days.

The post inspired numerous TikTokers to comment AI-generated images of a blue collar worker version of SpongeBob, including @inmate___720 on September 23rd, garnering over 9,000 likes in three days.



On September 24th, 2025, TikToker[3] @realxphantomx posted a video combining several of the Blue Collar SpongeBob memes with the song, captioned, "MFs will get their first job at McDonald's and will GENUINELY look at you like this when you ask if they can get on the game," garnering over 1.4 million views in two days.

The Blue Collar SpongeBob memes continued to spread on TikTok in late September 2025.

On September 25th, 2025, TikToker[4] @happy.cub posted a version of the meme showing SpongeBob tending to a lawn, captioned, "How mfs feel after mowing the lawn once," garnering over 900,000 views in a day.


That same day, TikToker[5] @bigblackballhairs posted a version of the meme showing SpongeBob as a coal miner, captioned, "How unemployed MFs who sleep all day describe washing the dishes," garnering over 733,000 views in a day.
