The meme is based on the Hoyeon Jung, Squid Game Star, Reveals format, which became popular in October 2021.

On October 4th, 2021, Twitter[1] user @dontrmrartpop posted an image of Squid Game star Hoyeon Jung next to an image of the album cover for Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's Love For Sale, captioned, "Hoyeon Jung, Squid Game star, reveals in a recent interview to Vogue Korea that lately she’s been obsessed with 'Love For Sale' Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga’s new album. 'I just think it’s something the world needs right now, whenever I listen to it my mood changes for the better'" (shown below). The tweet gained over 1,400 likes and 260 retweets in a week and started a trend where users replace the Lady Gaga album and quote to reference something else.
Billie Eilish Vogue America Meme
On August 2nd, 2022, Twitter[2] user @LegitKorea, a League of Legends streamer, posted a version of the "Hoyeon Jung" meme replacing Jung with Billie Eilish and her being "obsessed" with Eilish being "frustrated." The post claims Eilish is frustrated about the champion Yuumi being overpowered and Riot Games refusing to change it, garnering over 16,000 likes and 1,200 retweets in six days (shown below).

On August 4th, 2022, Twitter[3] user @SN0RLAXES posted a version about Seer from Apex Legends, gaining over 5,700 likes in four days (shown below, left). On August 6th, Twitter[4] user @NYExcelsior posted a version about Baptiste from Overwatch, gaining over 5,400 likes in two days (shown below, right). On August 7th, Dexerto[5] published an article about the trend.
