Big Person Chasing Little Person is a trend on TikTok where one smaller person throws an object at a perceivably larger person and is then chased by them. The trend is vaguely based on the video game Resident Evil Village, specifically when the character Ethan Winters is being chased by Lady Dimitrescu. It's also likened to the biblical story of David and Goliath. The song used in the trend samples a sound from Mortal Kombat, when Scorpion shouts, "Get over here!" It was started by female, Russian TikTokers in early 2022.

Origin

On March 20th, 2022, TikToker^[1] wwwwww.b_d posted a video of her throwing a large piece of concrete at her friend. When the rock hit her friend's back, it appeared to be the size of a pebble, comically alluding that her friend was much bigger than her. Additionally, the camera angles on each girl are pointing downwards or upwards depending on who is small and who is big. After the rock hit the big person's back, she turned around and started chasing the smaller person as the song progressed. Over the course of eight days, the video received roughly 8.6 million plays and 1.9 million likes (shown below).

On March 21st, 2022, another Russian TikToker,^[2] uzersha, posted the first known variant of the trend, essentially copying the original video with their partner. Over the course of one week, the video received roughly 39,800 plays and 4,800 likes (shown below, left). On March 22nd, multiple TikTokers, still primarily Russian, added to the growing trend. For instance, TikToker^[3] crystalocea posted a version that earned roughly 164,400 plays and 20,600 likes in six days (shown below, center). TikToker^[4] ippu.song earned roughly 176,400 plays and 15,000 likes for theirs (shown below, right).

TikTokers started to get more creative with what objects they threw and how they threw them going into the remainder of March 2022. For instance, on March 25th, TikToker^[5] poundedpuzzy posted an iteration that had them throwing a big branch at the big person, only to get stomped on at the end. The video earned roughly 218,800 plays and 28,600 likes in three days (shown below, left). On March 28th, TikToker^[6] kiki.tiki.biki777 posted a version that had a skateboard turn into a Tech Deck as it flew through the air, earning roughly 896,200 plays and 158,700 likes in one day (shown below, right).
