The Before I Let Go Challenge or #BeforeILetGoChallenge refers to a dance choreography challenge involving Beyonce's instructions of "Turn around, kick, then slide/ And twirl that ass to the right now/ Ooh, bunny hop, bunny hop, drop, pop/ Cross your legs, turn around and clap/ Shuffle to the left, let's glide now/ Ooh, drop it down, drop it down low, low" in her cover of Frankie Beverly and Maze's song "Before I Let Go"[1] featured as a bonus track on her Homecoming album.

Origin

On April 17th, 2019, Beyoncé released the track "Before I Let Go" as a bonus track from her live album Homecoming, which accompanied the release of her concert film of the same name. The song received over 828,000 views and 22,000 likes in a week on Youtuber (shown below).

The next day, Twitter user @ImFabron posted the first Before I Let Go Challenge dance video which gained 369 likes and 140 retweets in a week (shown below).

On April 18th, Mallory Butler uploaded the first Challenge on YouTube (shown below, left). The video gained 4,800 views in a week. Others soon followed. That same day Jan'na McGuire uploaded another dance video to YouTube (shown below, right). The video has accumulated over 32,000 views and 1,900 likes in a week.

On April 23rd, Beyoncé posted her favorite Before I Let it Go Dance Challenge videos to her first ever Instagram story (shown below, left). The challenge continued with YouTubers like Lovie posting compilation videos (shown below, right). Their compilation video gained over 5,600 views in two days.
