Beaned refers to an bait-and-switch-like image of a cartoon green bean with text declaring that the reader has been "Beaned!" The character is often used in various edits and shitposting.

Origin

The first known usage was on April 18th, 2016, when Facebook page Green de la Bean posted the original (shown below), with a watermark on it.[2] It has obtained nearly 5,000 likes, 7,000 shares, and about 100,000 comments as of September 6th, 2016.

The next day, iFunny user Schlonged posted a crop of the original.[4] It obtained over 20 smiles in about 4 months. Later, on June 15th, Green de la Bean posted a comic (shown below) with Meme Man and the character in the original image.[3] It obtained over 5,000 likes, nearly 9,000 shares, and around 2,600 comments as of September 6th, 2016.




On April 20th, 2016, Tumblr user dogpuppy reposted the image from Green de la Bean.[1] It has obtained over 38,000 notes.
