About

BDSM Dungeon House refers to a listing for a suburban house in Maple Glen, Pennsylvania that went viral after it was discovered that several photos in the listing displayed the house's Bondage, Discipline, Sadism and Masochism (BDSM) room.

Origin

On February 7th, 2019, a house in Maple Glen, Pennsylvania went on realtor site Redfin.com.[1] Much of it appeared ordinary, save for several photos that showed off the house's designated BDSM room (examples shown below).

Spread

The listing began going viral as people realized its contents. The day after it was posted, Twitter user @dhm tweeted about it, gaining over 490 retweets and 1,600 likes (shown below, left). User @headfallsoff joked about the way the house staged the beds, gaining over 20 retweets and 180 likes (shown below, right).

Redfin eventually removed the BDSM pictures from the listing, but not before they had been covered by national news. The house has been covered by The Cut,[2] Refinery29,[3] and Buzzfeed.[4] Realtor Melissa Leonard expressed frustration that Redfin had removed the BDSM room photos, telling The Cut, "“They’re not letting me portray the house as it is… I think if they show up at this house and they don’t expect it, I don’t want someone bringing children down there.”
