Bayonetta as Joker's Mom refers to a humorous fan theory in the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate community that Bayonetta from the Bayonetta series is the mother of Joker from the Persona series. The theory has spawned fan art and jokes.

The jokes started after it was announced on December 6th, 2018 that Joker would be a downloadable fighter in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. The earliest known artwork depicting the pair as a mother and son was posted December 7th by Twitter user @Giant_Tabby,^[1] gaining over 610 retweets and 1,400 likes (shown below).

More fan art and jokes about the pairing in the coming days. Some popular examples include a piece of fan art by @Aztodio^[2] that gained over 3,200 retweets and 8,900 likes (shown below, left). User @MidnightKolrath^[3] tweeted an imagined dialogue between the two characters, gaining over 2,000 retweets and 6,600 likes (shown below, right).

Jokes saw a resurgence after Joker was officially released in Smash Ultimate on April 17th. That day, Twitter user MattMannheimer^[4] posted a shot of the pair's pre-match screen with the caption "When you have an argument with your mom," gaining 23,000 retweets and 69,000 likes (shown below, left).
