Batman Begin refers to a catchphrase and image macro based on a tweet posted by actor Michael Caine, who portrayed the butler character Alfred in Christopher Nolan's 2005 Batman Begins film. The post was shared in late August 2024 and became the subject of memes and jokes and was used as a copypasta or spam comment by netizens adding the "Batman Begin" misspelled in Caine's tweet about his memorable line, "Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up."
Origin
On August 19th, 2024, English actor Michael Caine shared on his X[1] / Twitter account a line from his role as the butler Alfred in the 2005 Batman Begins movie. The tweet misspelled the film's name, writing "Batman Begin," looking as if it is part of the quote (seen below), amassing more than 238,000 likes and 36,000 reposts in a week.
Spread
Shortly after Michael Caine's "Batman Begin" tweet went viral, netizens started to post parodies using the misspelled version of the movie's name.
For instance, on August 19th, 2024, X[2] user @RetroBlastUS posted still frames from the Batman Begins scene referenced in the actors' post, replacing the final line with "Batman Begin," which amassed over 2,700 likes and 98 reposts in a week.
On August 20th, 2024, X[3] user @Murdoink uploaded a video from the Injustice game in which the narrator says "Batman, begin!" The tweet (seen below) amassed roughly 282,000 views and 18,000 likes in a week.
