Backside Challenge is a series of TikTok parody videos in which users typically disguise the front of their body to resemble their backside, then reveal the illusion in sync with Loser's "They did surgery on Tracer"^[4] (a mashup of "Mia Khalifa" by iLOVEFRiDAY and "The Muffin Song" by Schmoyoho).

Origin

The earliest parody video uploaded to TikTok is unknown. On January 14th, 2019, YouTuber Laughter Combo Delivery^[1] uploaded a video entitled "Hit or Miss?! TikTok New trending backside Challenge Meme Compilation 🤣" (shown below, left). The same day, YouTuber Best Musical ly's^[2] published another compilation videos (show below, right).

Spread

There have been over 672,800 Backside Challenge TikTok parodies made since the track "Loser-They did surgery on tracer" was uploaded to TikTok. On January 15th, 2019, YouTuber Salsa Sauce^[3] uploaded a more successful compilation video entitled "Backside Challenge Musically & TikTok Compilation | Funny Challenges #backsidechallenge." The video has received 2,493,200 views and 12,000 likes in two weeks (shown below).

The two most popular TikTok parodies as of January 30th, 2019 are by @Paola Escoto with 2.7 million likes (shown below, left) and @anna_b_official with 738,800 likes (shown below right).
