Back Door BoJo, also known as #BackDoorBojo and Back Door Bojo, refers to a viral video of crowds booing United Kindom Prime Minister Boris Johnson as he meets First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon outside Bute House in Scotland.

Origin

On July 23rd, 2019, Boris Johnson became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after winning the 2019 Conservative Party leadership election..

Six days later, while on a tour of the four United Kingdom countries, Boris Johnson arrived at Bute House, the official residence of the First Minister of Scotland. A crowd of people jeered the Prime Minister as he arrived and met with First Minister Sturgeon (shown below). According to reports from the Guardian,[1] he left "via a back door."

That day, i Paper editor Chris Green tweeted the video wit hte caption "Boris Johnson’s reception at Bute House." The tweet received more than 2.5 million views, 17,000 likes and 4,600 retweets in three days (shown below).

After the video was posted on to Twitter, many people had reacted to the tweet with "#BackDoorBoJo" trending number one in the United Kingdom and it also trended worldwide.

Scottish comedian Jane Godley tweeted a video a voice-over remix of the video. The post received more than 204,000 views, 4,000 likes and 1,300 retweets in three days (shown below).

Following reports that Johnson had left the house via the backdoor, people posted jokes about his exit. For example, Twitter user @KINGofJOCKISTAN tweeted a GIF of a child running and abrunbtly stopping. The post recieved more than 500 likes and 200 retweets in three days (shown below).
