Baby Yobama a photoshopped face swap image a kin to Yobama which is an image portmanteau of "Yoda" and "Obama" combining the Star Wars character Yoda with the face of Barack Obama. This version, created in November 2019, is based on baby yoda which is an unnamed character introduced on the Disney+ television series The Mandalorian that resembles an infant version of the Star Wars character Yoda.

Origin

On November 22nd, 2019, Redditor w33dSw4gD4wg360 posted the original image of Baby Yobama to r/PewdiepieSubmissions^[3] (shown below). The image received over 23,200 points (88% upvoted) in four days.

Precursor

In June 2009, a photoshop contest titled "Celebrity Star Wars 5" was created on Worth1000. ^[1] User Fichtenbrenner submitted a photoshopped picture of the character Yoda with Barack Obama's face (shown below). On May 11th, 2018, Instagram user @vert_pio_^[2] reposted the photoshopped image along with the hashtag #yobama.^[2]

On November 22nd, 2019, Redditor Aayu_69 posted the image of Baby Yobama with the caption "Therapist: Baby Yobama is not real it can't hurt you. Baby Yobama:" to r/dankmemes^[4] (shown below, left). The image accumulated over 19,000 points (91% upvoted) in four days. That same day, Redditor K3N uploaded a "smooth" Baby Yobama image with the caption "am bebe" to r/dankmemes^[5] which garnered 25 points (79% upvoted) in four days (shown below, right).
