Baby Danny Devito refers to viral images of babies that look similar to the actor Danny Devito. Two separate baby photos circled Reddit beginning in 2013 which were compared to Danny Devito and were brought to Devito's attention on The Late Show with Stephan Colbert in 2016.

Origin

On May 22nd, Facebook account Mommy Shorts^[2][1] posted a photo which was submitted anonymously to the account and compared to Danny Devito (shown below). The image garnered over 5,600 reacts in seven years.

Spread

On November 14th, 2016, Redditor pangitlee posted a photo of her son to r/pics^[3] with the caption "My son used to look like Danny Devito (shown below). The picture gained over 19,300 points (83% upvoted) in four years. Huff Post^[5] published an article on the picture.

On November 24th, 2016, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert posted the YouTube video "Instagram Loves Babies Who Look Like Danny DeVito" in which Colbert shows Devito the image originally posted to Reddit (shown below). The YouTube video received over one million views in four years. In February 2020, The original Danny Devito baby comparison image resurfaced on Reddit. On February 8th, 2020, Redditor The_bestestusername the image to r/photoshopbattles^[4] and accumulated over 960 points (94% upvoted) in 10 days.
