ASCII 2020 Slogans is phrasal template depicting the year 2020 using ASCII Art. Splitting the symbols in two is a message the meme's author would like to communicate as a theme for the new year. The template follows the format:

Origin
The earliest available usage of the meme was posted on December 19th, 2019 by Twitter [1] user @oaksupreme_. Inside the ASCII 2020, they wrote, "Secure the 💰and spoil your mum." Within two weeks, the post received more than 470 likes and 290 retweets (shown below).
Spread
Over the next week, the format continued to spread as people added political and personal messages in between the top of the 2020 and the bottom half of 2020. On December 21st, Twitter[2] user @transb0rder tweeted, "Abolish ICE, CBP, borders, prisons." The tweet received more than 2,300 likes and 700 retweets in less than one week (shown below, left).
Days later, on December 25th, journalist and activist Shaun King tweeted,[3] "Bernie Sanders for president." The post received more than 11,000 likes and 2,100 retweets in less than two days (shown below, center).
Following the post, the format spread wider. On December 27th, Twitter[3] user @cmclymer tweeted a variation that read, "More dresses with pockets." The post received mroe than 2,700 likes and 385 retweets in less than 24 hours (shown below, right).
