Armenian Cory, also known as the Cory Spazkid Edited Car Photo, refers to a photoshopped photo of YouTuber and animator Cory Spazkid (aka Cory J. Beck or Spazkidin3D) sitting in a car. Cory's seen with glasses, a thick beard and a mustache. The photo was taken by fellow YouTuber and animator OneyNG who posted it to Twitter / X in early 2022, with the caption, "cory isnt reacting well to the LA air but hes ready to play some video games!!!" The image was used as an exploitable in memes going into the 2020s. The unedited photo was released later, inspiring discourse and memes.

Origin

On April 15th, 2022, YouTuber OneyNG posted a photo of Cory Spazkid to X,^[1] captioned, "cory isnt reacting well to the LA air but hes ready to play some video games!!!" In the photo (shown below, left), Spazkid is sitting in a car, wearing a white shirt and glass, and sporting a beard and mustache while looking directly into the camera. The post received over 21,000 likes in two years (shown below, right).

In the replies to the tweet, internet users started to post memes using the image. For instance, on April 15th, 2022, X^[2] user @macabre_max_666 photoshopped Spazkid to be bald, receiving over 1,100 likes in two years (shown below, left).

Also on April 15th, 2022, X^[3] user @MasterPlag replied with a FaceApp Face Morphing of Spazkid and Nostalgia Critic, receiving over 1,000 likes in two years (shown below, right).

Fan art was also made with the image early on, evident in a piece shared by Newgrounds ^[4] user gigglechu on June 12th, 2022, receiving 21 faves in two years (show below, left).

On June 12th, 2022, Redditor^[5] bat-chest shared a two-panel image to /r/OneyPlays that showed a humorously handsome "Original Photograph," receiving over 1,100 upvotes in two years (shown below, right).

Going into 2023, the image continued to amass memetic usage, evident in a Do You Love Me? Do You Need Me? video posted by TikToker^[6] @okayishpancake on June 11th, 2023, receiving over 82,300 plays and 9,100 likes in 10 months (shown below).

Unedited Photo

On November 6th, 2023, Redditor^[7] SandTee posted the unedited, original photograph to /r/OneyPlays, receiving over 1,800 upvotes in five months (shown below, left). The post is currently the first known upload of the image online.

The unedited photo was then reposted by X^[8] user @Snarketypes on November 7th, 2023, who wrote, "Oh my God they declassified the unedited Cory picture," gaining over 12,000 likes in five months (shown below, right).
