Origin
On June 13th, 2020, YouTuber Sam Seeger uploaded the "Armagetten" music video. The video features animation based on a voice mail recording left by the YouTuber's brother Ben. Within three days, the post received more than 346,000 views in less than three days.
Spread
The following day, Redditor [1] optsyn posted the video in the /r/videos. The post received more than 39,000 points (89% upvoted) and 940 comments in less than two days.
Following the release of the video, Sam Segger posted on Facebook [2] that the song had reached #11 on YouTube's trending charts (shown below).
