Are Y'all with the Cult? is a memorable line uttered by Hank Hill in season 6 of the American animated comedy series King of the Hill. The clip has been turned into an exploitable series wherein the person responding to Hill says something that betrays they are with whichever group Hill is inquiring about.

Origin

On April 21, 2002, Fox aired the King of the Hill episode "Fun With Jane and Jane".^[1] In the episode Hank Hill's wife Peggy and their niece Luanne Platter join a sorority which, unbeknownst to them, is actually a cult. In once scene, Hank Hill and his friends Dale Gribble and Bill Dautreve drive down to the cult to rescue Peggy and Luanne and, wondering if this was the place they were looking for asks one of the cultists, the cultist begins to respond by saying they aren't a cult, but rather an organization that promotes love before being cut off by Hank's declaration that they've found the right place.

On October 13th, 2013, the image macro of the scene was posted to /r/funny^[5] by Redditor OrangeIsBluetoo (shown below).

November 8th, 2017, Imgur user DoctorCheeze posted a three-pane image depicting the scene. As of July 5th, 2020 it has received over 2,100 upvotes and more than 134,000 views.^[2] On, September 8th, 2018 Reddit user "coffeeNgunpowder" posted the image to the r/KingoftheKill subreddit where it has received over 900 views as of July 5, 2020.^[3] One of the earliest edits was posted to Imgur on February 19th, 2016, mocking Bernie Sanders supporters (shown below, left). A similar example was posted to r/centerleftpolitics subreddit on June 25th, 2019 and has received over 200 upvotes as of July 5th, 2020 (shown below, left).^[4]

The meme continued to develop with political jokes over the following years. On June 10th, 2020, Tumblr user twinkcommunist^[6] posted an example mocking CHOP, gaining over 3,200 notes (shown below, left). On June 29th, 2020, Redditor Dovahbears made a post mocking centrism in /r/RadicalCentrism,^[7] gaining over 630 points (shown below, right).
