About
The April Theory is a widely held belief that in the month of April, people from one's past resurface in their lives, followed by new opportunities. The antithesis of the April Theory is the March Theory, which states that most relationships end in March. The theories were largely purported on TikTok in early 2023 in anticipation of April and March that year. They are vaguely related to mood changes between seasons, as in, seasonal depression. Believing in the concept was closely related to reality shifting and "manifestation TikTok."
Origin
On February 12th, 2023, TikToker[1] @vaatsalya.c posted a video about how the "March Theory" was a "real thing" and that couples tend to either break up or make themselves "official" in February and March. The TikTok gained roughly 972,300 plays and 80,800 likes in one month (shown below, left). On February 28th, 2023, TikToker[2] @vaatsalya.c posted another video claiming that the "April Theory" was a "real thing" and that many couples break up due to new eras of their lives surfacing in April specifically. @vaatsalya.c also claimed that "sneaky links" come back, as in past sexual partners who weren't a person's main partner. Over the course of one month, the video gained roughly 1.3 million plays and 47,900 likes (shown below, right).
me explaining that the March theory is a real thing. it's when most couples break up. i don't know if it's something in the air but either a lot of people become official during this season or they break up. and i'm talking long long term relationships that usually come to an end during this time. it happens to the best of us in some shape or form
me thinking about how the april theory is a real thing and this is the time when most people break up because they're starting new eras of their life and it's harder to maintain a relationship, sneak links come back during this time too.
