The trend became popularized on TikTok in August 2022.

Origin

On August 1st, 2022, TikToker^[1] @yk.karmen__ posted a video where she lip dubs to a sped-up version of the song "Chanel" by Young Thug under the caption, "anything he wants he can get it," followed by a caption saying he wants to drive her car, resulting in her laughing and shaking her head (shown below). The video gained over 2 million views in three weeks. This is the earliest known video following the trend.

Spread

The trend spread over the course of August. For example, on August 7th, 2022, TikToker^[2] @carson.roney posted a video following the trend where she refuses the request to put on a bra, garnering over 6.3 million views in two weeks (shown below, left). On August 14th, TikToker^[3] @myerandjuliette posted a video where her significant other asks for a baby, followed by photos of her pregnancy and their baby together, garnering over 2.5 million views in a week (shown below, right).

On August 17th, Twitter^[4] user @blvckcouples reposted a similar video of the trend where a woman shows her pregnancy after her husband asked for a baby, garnering over 134,000 views and 5,500 likes in a week (shown below).
