Another Settlement Needs Our Help refers to quests provided by the non-player character (NPC) Preston Garvey from the 2015 role-playing game Fallout 4. Due to the unlimited number of randomly-generated quests in this category, many players have mocked the character as annoying and tiresome.

Origin

On November 10th, 2015, Fallout 4 was released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows platforms. One of the first NPCs encountered by the player is Preston Garvey of the Minutemen, who subsequently provides an endless supply of quests for the player to complete. When a new quest is available, Garvey will alert the player that a settlement requires assistance.

Spread

On November 17th, 2015, Steam Forums[1] user Eriksen submitted a thread titled "Does preston garvey mission ever stop?" On November 20th, GameFAQs Forums[2] member Mhgale submitted a thread titled "Does Preston ever f*** off with the Settlement quests?" On November 28th, YouTuber Shad0wShayd3 uploaded footage of a Fallout 4 mod disabling the Minutemen quests (shown below).

On December 5th, YouTuber Roman Bellic uploaded a clip of Garvey alerting the player of a new quest followed by a clip of DJ Khaled saying his catchphrase "Another One" (shown below).

On January 7th, 2016, Kotaku[3] published an article titled "The Internet Loves Making Fun of Fallout 4's Preston Garvey," featuring various photoshops of Garvey requesting assistance for settlements.
