The audio starts with the song "Lemon" by Korean singer Yoo Yeon-jung, followed by a female voice asking, "Are you interested in buying a watch?" The video came from the TikTok account @flix.drama6.

The name "Amnesia and a Sudden Marriage to My First Love" is the mistranslated title of a Chinese "C-drama" series called After a Flash Marriage, She Was Pampered by a Celibate Tycoon, also known as 闪婚后被禁欲大佬宠爆了 or Shǎn Hūn Hòu Bèi Jìn Yù Dà Lǎo Chǒng Bào Le, which was released in short clips on Chinese social media in 2024.

Because TikToker @flix.drama6 uploaded the C-drama's videos as a "Series" on TikTok, users were unable to screenshot and screen record them, with some users unable to watch them entirely. However, it still appeared in their feeds, which generated mystery, intrigue and confusion over the Amnesia and a Sudden Marriage to My First Love glitch. Users experiencing it posted memes that joked about being in purgatory or spread conspiracy theories about it, trying to explain it.

On July 13th, 2025, TikToker^[1] @flix.drama6 started sharing clips from the C-drama series After a Flash Marriage, She Was Pampered by a Celibate Tycoon, which was created in 2024, according to its info page on the site chinesemov.com.^[2]

That day, @flix.drama6 posted several clips from the series dubbed in English, like one TikTok^[3] in which the main character enters a jewelry store and is asked, "Are you interested in buying a watch?" @flix.drama6 added the song "Lemon" by Yoo Yeon-jung,^[6] which is not included in the original scene.^[5]

The TikTok^[3] video cannot be screen-recorded or embedded on the Know Your Meme website, seemingly because it is part of a "Series" on TikTok. According to TikTok's support website,^[4] a Series "offers exclusive and premium video packages produced by creators." Videos from a Series cannot be screen-recorded or downloaded because they are classified as DRM-protected media.

However, the full C-drama was uploaded to YouTube^[5] with English subtitles on December 18th, 2024, by the channel Daily skits. The "Are you interested in buying a watch?" scene occurs at the 1:04:03 timestamp. Notably, the YouTuber translated the Chinese title to Flash Marriage to a Poor CEO After Amnesia.

On December 8th, 2025, TikToker^[7] @secret.allissa shared a video caption post, in which she used the audio from the Amnesia and a Sudden Marriage to My First Love video on TikTok,^[3] paired with text overlay reading, "If I get this black screen on my FYP one more time / Please tell me I'm not the only one getting this." Over eight days, her video received over 34,500 likes.

In the following days, several top comments were left on @secret.allissa's video, including a screenshot of what the blank black screen looked like in someone's FYP feed.

Heading into December 2025, several TikTokers posted videos about the Amnesia and a Sudden Marriage to My First Love glitch.

For instance, on December 13th, TikToker^[8] @soupsucker posted a video of himself greenscreened in front of the blank black video, asking, "What is this?" Over three days, his video received over 12,900 likes.

On December 14th, 2025, TikToker^[9] @cocopaine2 posted a video of herself with a text overlay caption, reading, "Is it just me or is Amnesia and Sudden Marriage to My First Love lowkenuinely giving SCP foundation cognitohazard," gaining over 46,500 likes in two days.

On December 15th, Redditor llDarkRiotll shared a post about the Amnesia and a Sudden Marriage to My First Love glitch to the /r/InternetMysteries^[10] subreddit, receiving 25 upvotes and 25 comments in a day.
