All You Have to Do Is Stay is a series of TikTok parodies in which users lip sing to a remixed version of the song "Stay" by Zedd and Alessia Cara typically acting out the scenario of parents fighting until their child yells "All you have to do is stay a minute, just take your time."

Origin

On June 23rd, 2018, TikTok user @❤️T.J.R.•[Yumi]•❤️ uploaded the sound clip using it in a video dedicated to Undertale fan art (shown below). The video gained over 198,000 likes and 1,900 shares in a year.

Spread

The "All you have to do is.." sound clip has been used in over 2.4 million videos in a year. On March 1st, 2019, TikTok user @_saiydeceelias_ made use of duets to recreate a screaming match between parents (shown below, left). the video has gained over 1.9 million likes and 46,900 shares in two months. On March 25th, @gibsonmovement86 uploaded a similar video which gained over 1.8 million likes and 44,500 shares in two months (shown below, right).

On March 25th, TikTok user @chantespain1 uploaded a video with two people acting as the parents and reaching toward the viewer as it they were the child interjecting (shown below, left). the video gained over 283,700 likes in two months and became a popular video to duet. On April 8th, TikTok user @tyshonlawrence uploaded a duet with the couple acting acting like the couple was reaching for his gum (shown below, center). the video gained over 365,700 likes and 12,900 shares in a month. On May 3rd, @조아JOAH uploaded a similar duet video which gained over 87,000 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).
