All About Cake Dance is a dance created by TikToker mehki in May 2020. The dance, which features a mashup of Rihanna's "Birthday Cake" and Playboi Carti's "Cake" became popular in early July after stars like Charli D'Amelio and Lizzo performed the dance in videos on the platform.

Origin

On May 24th, 2020, TikToker mehki introduced a new dance to TikToker Kyleyoumadethat's^[2] mashup of Rihanna's "Birthday Cake" and Playboi Carti's "Cake," according to StayHipp.^[1] the video gained over 822,100 likes in two months (shown below).

Spread

On June 10th, 2020, Tiktoker addisonre made a video with David Dobrik featuring the dance which received over six million likes in a month (shown below, left). On June 26th, TikToker Charli D'Amelio performed the dance with @markellwashington1 in a video that accumulated over 8.8 million likes in several weeks (shown below, center). On July 2nd, lizzo performed the dance and acquired over 1.5 million likes in 12 days (shown below, right).
