Alisson Pops World Cup Balloon refers to a moment during Brazil vs. Switzerland at the 2018 World Cup in which Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker stomped on and popped an inflatable ball that had drifted out of the stands and onto the field, leading to jokes on Twitter in the form of object labeling and photoshop memes.
Origin
On June 17th, 2018, during Brazil's game against Switzerland at the 2018 World Cup, an inflatable red ball had blown onto the field from the stands. Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker ran out to the ball and stomped on it, allowing play to resume (shown below).
