About

After 2 Weeks and Multiple Health Screens, also known as Kim Kardashian's 40th Birthday Party, is a Twitter copypasta mocking a tweet by Kim Kardashian West revealing that she had taken her "inner circle" to a private island for her 40th birthday to "pretend things were normal" during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. The tweet was widely mocked by those who felt it was out-of-touch and appeared to be flaunting wealth in a distasteful manner.

Origin

On October 27th, 2020, West posted a series of photographs on Twitter[1] from a trip she took with close friends and family at a private island to celebrate her 40th birthday. In one of the tweets, West announced that "After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time" (shown below). That day, the tweet gathered more than 16,000 quote tweets, 12,000 likes and 500 retweets.

Spread

That day, comedian Patton Oswalt posted the tweet[2] along with a photograph of the character Dr. Moreau (played by Marlon Brando) in the 1996 science fiction horror film The Island of Dr. Moreau (shown below, left). Meanwhile, Twitter[3] user @mattdpearce tweeted a picture of the 1993 puzzle adventure game Myst along with the copypasta (shown below, right).

Also on October 27th, Twitter[4] user @yashar posted a picture of the character Chuck Noland (played by Tom Hanks) in the 2000 survival drama film Cast Away accompanied by the original Kim Kardashian West tweet (shown below). That evening, Memebase[5] published a collection of copypasta tweets titled "Kim Kardashian Roasted For Tone-Deaf Tweet About Lavish Birthday Vacation." Meanwhile, a Twitter[6] Events page titled "Kim Kardashian's 40th birthday party gets the meme treatment" was created.
