"Adorpion" Shirt refers to a pro-life t-shirt which attempts to make the point that changing the letters "B" and "R" in "Abortion" to a "D" and "P" changes the word to "Adoption." However, the shirt features an error changing the "T" to a "P" instead, making the point "Adorpion" can save lives. Once the shirt was posted to social media, users joked about the error on Reddit and Twitter.
Origin
The shirt is credited to Inspired By Grace Designs and was posted to Amazon on February 26th, 2019.[2] On July 14th, 2019, Redditor Tire236[1] posted a screenshot of the shirt's Amazon page to /r/crappydesign, gaining over 4,900 points (shown below).
Spread
On April 14th, 2020, the shirt was posted to Twitter by user @necrosofty,[3] gaining over 7,400 retweets and 56,000 likes (shown below).
After the tweet was posted, others began joking about the typo. User @wehpudicabok[4] tweeted "ADORPION," gaining over 73,000 retweets and 427,000 likes (shown below, left). User @aubviouslynot[5] wrote, "still trying to process that they didn’t even get the letters right," gaining over 320 likes (shown below, right).
Others joked that the letters singled out by the shirt are "D" and "P" and "DP" can stand for "double penetration." User @RaxKingIsDead[6] joked, "it’s like i’ve been sayin DP saves lives," gaining over 400 likes (shown below, left). User @PostinMonkey[7] made a similar joke, gaining over 40 retweets and 400 likes (shown below, right).
