Aborted Baby Ghosts Crying Around Tattooed Woman or Aborted Baby Souls Following Tattooed Girl refers to an AI-generated offensive Pixar image of the ghosts of nine aborted babies crying while following a sad, regretful tattooed woman who presumably aborted them. The image was posted to X, formerly Twitter, in October 2023 and went viral after another user reposted it with the caption, "This picture makes me so sad…," inspiring discourse and memes referencing the artwork, including photoshops adding to and replacing various aspects of the image.

Origin

On October 21st, 2023, X[1] user @Nordicfrost posted an AI-generated image of a tattooed woman with her arms crossed and a pout on her face walking forward surrounded by nine crying ghosts of babies, each presumably meant to be one of her aborted babies, garnering over 30 likes in two days (shown below). This is the earliest known time the image was posted, although it is unconfirmed if it's the original.

The image was reposted several times over the following days. Later on October 21st, it was reposted by X[2] user @GarbageHuman23, garnering over 750 likes in two days. That same day, u/KitKatery posted the image to /r/im14andthisisdeep,[3] garnering over 1,200 upvotes in the same span of time. On October 22nd, X[4] user @Alphafox78 posted the image, writing, "This picture makes me so sad…," garnering over 2,000 likes and 5,700 reposts in a day (shown below).

Spread

The image inspired discourse under its quote-reposts and on X in general, with many people mocking the idea that user @Alphafox78 got sad after looking at the AI-generated image. On October 22nd, 2023, X[5] user @Joan_Atoms quoted the post, writing, "1/3 of fertilized eggs fail to attach to the uterine wall so statistically speaking this is your mom," garnering over 68,000 likes in a day (shown below, left). On the same day, X[6] user @XEXEEZY quoted the post with a meme, garnering over 1,700 likes in a day (shown below, right).

That day, X[7] user @Third_Nut posted another image of a similarly animated tattooed woman happily running from what looks like ghost babies, writing, "Stop spreading misinformation she's since reconciled with the ghosts," garnering over 2,300 likes in a day (shown below). X[8] user @OhTheSunnySide quoted the original post writing, "good for her," garnering over 83,000 likes in a day.


Later that day, X[9] user @uxiedust quote-reposted the original, writing, "this goes so hard i have GOT to get an abortion now," garnering over 25,600 likes in a day (shown below, left). X[10] user @freshhel posted, "The unfortunate trade off for modern women.. you have to get 9 abortions in order to find denim shorts that fit really good," garnering over 82,000 likes in a day. On October 23rd, X[11] user @adamtotscomix posted a photoshop making the image look more like a Pixar poster, garnering over 10,000 likes in under a day (shown below, right).
