About
2023 Is the Greatest Year for Video Games refers to a discourse on social media regarding the abundance of critically acclaimed video games released in 2023, which led to some users and journalists to argue that 2023 might be one of the best years for video games, on par with 1998, 2004 and 2007. In September 2023, the debate reached its viral point following an X / Twitter post criticized pessimistic outlook on gaming adopted by some and stated that 2023 was "arguably the greatest year for video games ever."
