Going into 2024, remixes of the song surfaced, most notably a video posted by Duke basketball player Jared McCain whose TikTok video gained virality in January 2024. Thereafter, users made fancams, edits and dance videos with the song.

Origin

On December 6th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @aimeecarty posted a video in which she was singing an original song called "2 Days Into College." Over two months, the video received roughly 14.2 million plays and 2.3 million likes (shown below).

On December 8th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @aimeecarty posted another video of her singing "2 Days Into College," gaining over 5 million plays and 594,200 likes in two months. Then, on December 8th, 2023, Carty uploaded the full-length track to YouTube,^[3] among other streaming platforms, gaining over 176,300 views in two months (shown below).

On January 26th, 2024, Duke basketball player Jared McCain posted a video to his TikTok^[6] account, @jaredmccain24, in which he sang Carty's song, gaining over 3.8 million plays and 537,300 likes in six days (shown below, left).

Following McCain's video, "2 Days Into College" gained increased attention for edits and memes, evident in an edit posted by TikToker^[7] @ndgojordy on January 30th, 2024, that received roughly 7.1 million plays and 992,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).

As edits with McCain's video spread on TikTok, people started generating more content about the song that mostly praised it. For instance, on January 31st, 2024, TikToker^[8] @adrien_nunez posted a video of him passionately singing the song in his car, earning over 1.9 million plays and 299,800 likes in a day (shown below).

By February 1st, 2024, the TikTok sound^[9] for Aimee Carty's "2 Days Into College" had amassed over 4,900 posts, some of which were photo slideshows. For instance, on January 30th, 2024, TikToker^[10] @cjlenos11 joked about, across two photos, "Me tryna act dark and mysterious," while "2 Days Into College" is playing in their AirPods, gaining over 3.1 million plays and 478,300 likes in two days (shown below).
