When the braids are finished, the boy does not give a vocal respond about whether or not he likes them. Many commenters expressed how they did not like the braids and that they thought the boy didn't like them, either.

The video became the subject of memes over the following days. On February 20th, 2025, TikToker^[2] @didenjbu2fz posted an AI-generated video of the kid crying after getting the braids, garnering over 2.1 million views in five days.

On February 22nd, TikToker^[3] @1nito_ posted a video responding to the memes about the haircut, reacting to the original video and showing a clip of him asking the kid if he liked the haircut after, to which the kid says he did, garnering over 6 million views in three days.
