And the meme of September 2022 goes to…

You guessed it: Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-ruling female monarch in history, is also now the only female monarch whose death became the meme of the month on KnowYourMeme dot com. The Queen's passing at age 96 has become the butt of jokes so quickly and in such an overwhelmingly massive fashion that it looked like the entire internet got /r/toosoon leaked all over it. From Ireland's downright celebration of the British monarch's death to Queen Elizabeth getting reincarnated as Trisha Paytas' baby (but not before facing Princess Diana in the afterlife), memes were aplenty, memes were a-funny, memes were downright unhinged, and memes ultimately got 23 percent of your votes on our poll. In the words of Bob Belcher: we love you, but you're terrible, you're all terrible.

The One Piece Is Real / One Piece Cock Edits

Falling to the "too late for August, too early for September" curse, The One Piece Is Real again fails to grab the crown but nonetheless manages to get much higher compared to the last month, climbing to the runner-up spot. A whopping 18 percent of you said "yes" to well-endowed versions of One Piece characters and to their artistically inspiring redraws featuring your favs from other franchises, making this second place real.

Wise Mystical Tree

It's wise, it's mystical, and it's totally restricted to people who are older than 25 and own a computer or two. You know it, you love it: it's the human-faced Wise Mystical Tree from those pesky browser game ads that have been everywhere since 2017. Who knows what those games even were? Has anyone ever play them? Doesn't matter, as this creepy-looking treant has far outlived their legacy. Third place with 10 percent of your votes.

Reddit Guy's Weird Sex Music / "Cbat" by Hudson Mohawke

Once you hear it, you can never really forget it. The build-up… The beat… The rhythm, just perfect for thrusting… One can say that 'Cbat' by Hudson Mohawke is the greatest sex music ever written. This "one" is the Redditor TylerLife and pretty much nobody else.

A /r/TIFU story about one man who put a very specific song into his sex playlist and one girlfriend tolerated it for two years before finally admitting that she hates it was shared all over, spawning memes everywhere from Reddit to TikTok. Meanwhile, Hudson Mohawke's magnum opus accumulated millions of streams, and now, thanks to nine percent of your votes, it also gets the fourth place on our poll.

Tumblr Sexyman Showdown

An event that Queen Elizabeth II didn't live to witness, the Tumblr Sexyman Showdown was a championship of major proportions, meant to resolve the one question: who is the Ultimate Sexyman of Tumblr. Bill Cypher, Once-ler, The Warden and many others competed and failed, with only two sexymen reaching the final poll. In the end, Sans from Undertale beat Arataka Reigen from Mob Psycho by mere 0.2 percent, meaning that every vote counted. In our poll, every vote counts as well, and the September 2022 Tumblr Sexyman Showdown gets its well-deserved fifth place with seven percent of them.

Among Us Eyes

September's freshest drawing technique every artist should know about, Among Us Eyes have taken over art Twitter by storm. It was artist Himuhino who changed the world of art forever by first using little red crewmates from Among Us to produce the "weepy eyes" effect. In September, artist NenekHani tried Himuhino's innovation for herself, and the world of art was changed forever. Now the artists have gone even further, using little cremates and impostors to shade, draw hair, and more. Now that's worthy of six percent of your votes and the sixth place on our monthly poll – eat that, AI Art.

While those who found their favorite memes of September in the top six are celebrating their victory, let us not forget about memes that may not have been as grand and funny as the top dogs, but added flavor to this month nonetheless. In descending order, here we have Adam Levine's cheating scandal and his love for absurdly hot bodies (6%), Stable Diffusion, the only AI image generative model advanced enough to redraw maymays (6%), Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime series and its selection of waifus (4%), totally plausible and not at all fake chess anal beads cheating theory (4%), Sam Hyde killing everyone in real life (3%), delicious King Charles' sausage fingers (2%), the Lawd Dem Rangs gospel (1%), and, lastly, "I love this photo because it invokes primal reactions" (1%).

I'll be honest, This is surprising.

I think the Queen's passing was impactful but I didn't hear any talks anymore, meanwhile the OP meme keeps on going.

I agree with the winner. Maybe not the most memetic event, but an important one for sure.

Glad Himu's Amogus Eyes made the cut here.

May not be a winner, but probably was one of the funnier memes that month with continued persistence.

Plus, it currently has evolved into something new, distinct amogus shape? idk what to call it, but there's now an emphasis in utilizing Amogus as a shape in art
