See The Winner Of July 2024's Meme Of The Month!
And the meme of July 2024 goes to …
In a head to head battle with another strong meme, it's the Tiny Green Mall Wizard and the month-long conflict between wizard gnomes and knights who oppose them that takes the upper hand and becomes the top meme of July 2024. Started by TikToker @crawly_possessed who kept invading Warsaw's malls dressed up as a wizard, the trend quickly spread over TikTok, with users taking sides in a conflict between pesky gnome mages and vexed knights who tried to keep them in check. This battle between STR and INT kept us entertained for a good part of the month, and getting 29 percent of total votes is a testament to this meme's quality.
Donald Trump Raised Fist Photograph
Everyone knew that the photograph of Donald Trump raising his fist in the air shortly after an attempt on his life would be a huge meme, and the real question was "how huge?" With 23 percent of total votes, the photograph that was edited, memed, and redrawn countless times over the past few weeks takes the second place on our monthly poll, and it's likely that the already iconic picture will keep inspiring memes for a long time.
Niko Shikanoko Entering a Classroom
With the first two memes on our list making such an impressive showing and splitting over half of total votes between them, the rest of the candidates had a difficult time rallying support. But as the dust has settled, it's obvious that the scene of Noko Shikanoko entering a classroom from My Deer Friend Nokotan had made a lasting impression and found a lot of fans. Not quite crushing the completion but surely covering it in dust and debris, the scene and its many redraws gets third place with over 6 percent of total votes.
Side Eye Horse
That's right: the silly image of the horse casting a side-eye look lands perfectly in the fourth spot with 6 percent of total views. The successor of the noble family of side-eye memes such as Side Eyeing Chloe and Awkward Look Monkey Puppet, Side Eye Horse is a photograph of a horse taken with the 0.5 zoom, which gave it its signature sussy vibe and turned it into a reaction, and react people did.
500 Cigarettes
Wrapping up the top five with 5.5 percent of total votes we have Five. Hundred. Cigarettes. A meme from The Orville, 500 hundred Cigarettes is powered by how ridiculous the idea of two aliens finding out about smoking, synthesizing an absurd amount of cigarettes and consuming them is. Also, if you don't know how to finish your meme, simply putting 500 hundred cigarettes as a punchline can be sufficient. It's also simply a funny scene that found a lot of use in Overstimulation Videos months before it got big this July.
And now to the memes that didn't five enough love to get into top five this month, but hey, they're neat anyway. Here we have a perfect companion for 500 cigs, One Million Beers (5%), the maximum effort it takes not to call someone "a good boy" (3.5%), the Charlie XCX-inspired Brat Summer (3%), Starlight mogging every other character in The Boys (3%), the crazy Japanese mascot Chiitan, destroyer of ads (3%), becoming Coconut-Pilled with Kamala Harris (2.5%), Lisa Simpsons remembering that there was no cane in Citizen Kane (2.5%), the continued influx of Trauma Dump Comics (2.5%), J.D. Vance definitely not being into couches (2%), Igon's beef with Bayle in Elden Ring (1.5%), Gen Z dipping its toes into being cringe with Gen Z Boss and a Mini (1.5%), and lastly Kamala Harris pondering what can be, unburdened by what has been (0.5%).
Thank you for voting and see you next month!
