And the meme of February 2021 goes to . . .

Amogus vents straight into first with 27% of the total votes, looking mad sus while doing it. This absurd Among Us format, often combined with imagery from the StoneToss webcomic, abandons all logic and acts as an ironic reaction to the oversaturation of the game six-months in. If you get it you get it, and if you don't get it, you probably get it anyways. Congratulations, Amogus!

Things That Look Like Among Us Crewmates

Things That Look Like Among Us Crewmates takes second, with 21% of the total votes. This next stage of Amogus blew up in February with image macros where the text expresses insanity after seeing the Among Us crewmate in everyday objects like trashcans and fire alarms. Like Amogus, this meme plays off the oversaturation of Among Us but in a less subtle way, basically just begging everyone to let the madness stop.

Daft Punk's "Epilogue"

Daft Punk's "Epilogue" comes in third, with 17% of the total votes. In February, legendary electronic duo Daft Punk announced their retirement with a now-viral video, inducing tears and memes of respect across the internet. Few musical groups have had as deep an impact on memers as Daft Punk, and their influence will not be forgotten, earning them their place in third.

Firefox's Minimalist Logo continues to disappoint everyone, landing in fourth with 15% of the total votes. When popular web browser Firefox got an update to its logo the internet was not happy, resulting in web-wide criticism and reviving the debate about minimalist vs. maximalist design. For real though, getting rid of the fox? Very cringe.

Ted Cruz's Cancun Vacation

Ted Cruz's Cancun Vacation strolls into sixth with 10% of the total votes. When Texas was hit with rolling blackouts due to a major winter storm, Senator Ted Cruz stepped up and took action by … fleeing to Cancun. The image of him strolling through the airport with his luggage quickly became the most hated thing online as people memed it every way possible, ensuring nobody ever forgets.

Gorilla Glue Girl

Gorilla Glue Girl is stuck in a tie for fifth with 10% of the total votes. When Tessica Brown ran out of hairspray, she decided the next best thing would be to spray her dome with Gorilla Glue spray. In her own words, "bad idea." Her hair was like this for over a week, needing a surgical procedure to fix. This even resulted in tons of memes and a story that everyone was glued to.
