The eligible pool includes all meme entries that were submitted on, or after January 1st, 2022, as well as meme entries that saw their first breakout in 2022, regardless of submission date. The poll launches today and it will remain open until 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Monday, December 19th.

1. Homophobic Dog – controversial, but it was a really malleable template for pop culture jokes.
2. Breakdancing Cat – short-lived, a wee bit annoying, but a lot fun for the art crowd.

Morbin Time or Morbius sweep.
Morbin time underwent such an incredible memetic mutation that many people have transmogrified it into different contexts. It is easily the best meme of the year despite being the most basic of formats.
