The Weekly Meme Roundup: King Von Anti-Piracy Screen, Kuzan Is Much Faster, 5x30 5Min/Day And More
Social media outrage from gamers, a redraw format about loving your wife, a copypasta about One Piece and an ironic workout meme? Yep, the gang's all here and they've all earned spots in our weekly meme roundup.
This week online, Twitter users got mad about The Witcher 4 protagonist, One Piece fans celebrated the fact that Kuzan is fast and can freeze his opponents and the 5×30 5 Min/Day workout became all the rage on TikTok as the ultimate way to get buff quick.
Here are the five biggest memes of the past week that you should be paying attention to.
Hire Fans LOL
The Game Awards took place recently and many were excited to see a trailer for The Witcher 4. But some people think that Ciri, the protagonist of the game, looks a little different than she used to.
These very vocal social media users think Ciri looks uglier than in The Witcher 3 and are now hypothesizing on why she might look different. Some have cited "wokeness run amok" and others believed that DEI requirements are at fault. On the bright side, the argument has revived an ironic meme from 2021 that was first used to criticize people who mocked Aloy's looks in Horizon Zero Dawn.
The copypasta is known as Hire Fans LOL and it involves yassifying a video game character, posting them next to their unedited counterpart and copy-pasting a variation of "hire fans LOL." The joke is that the fan-edited, "hotter" version is always worse looking. The meme had a huge resurgence on X this week thanks to angry Witcher 4 haters. Whatever your take, just know that it's unlikely any of this will stop The Witcher 4 from selling a billion copies.

Kuzan Is Much Faster and Can Freeze His Opponents
One Piece is undeniably one of the most memed anime series' of all time and this week, a copypasta about the character Kuzan went viral after being posted to the /r/OnePiecePowerScaling subreddit.
The comment was posted on December 10th in response to a post on the subreddit asking users who would win in a fight, Kusan or Yamato and Boa Hancock. Kuzan won by a large margin, with u/Lord_DIO_Za_Warudo giving us a possible reason why in a comment reading, "Wuzan [Kuzan] is much faster and can freeze his opponents." For some reason, the phrase really caught on with people, quickly becoming a copypasta.
The copypasta really blew up this week, especially on One Piece and anime-related subreddits. Some popular examples edit the phrase to reference characters from other anime series'. A lof the time, the phrase is used as a post title along with an image of the character they're referring to. It's arguably a strange phrase to take off as a copypasta, but it's certainly effective and is still popping up all over the place.

King Von Anti-Piracy Screen
In recent years, anti-piracy screens have become a big subject of memes for just how unsettling they can be. Now, TikTokers have taken the King Von stare meme and rebranded it as the King Von anti-piracy screen, breathing new life into the format.
The King Von stare meme, which is based around a photo of deceased rapper King Von staring forward, first started going viral as a meme on TikTok in September 2024. Like many staring memes, the image is used to represent a specific emotion or feeling that's described in the meme's caption.
But then, on December 13th, a TikToker made the image grainy, colored and added creepy music to it that reminded many of an anti-piracy screen. This has effectively revived the meme, inspiring TikTokers to make new variations using the stare, with many specifically referencing anti-piracy screens. Welcome back, King Von. You are now anti-piracy's greatest soldier.

5×30 5 Min/Day
A workout video known as 5×30 5 Min/Day became one of the biggest memes on fitness-TikTok this week and it's got everyone claiming they got jacked by doing some very interesting exercises.
The meme is based on an upload to the WorldFitVault YouTube channel back in November. The video, which shows off some exercises you can do to activate certain muscle groups, was reuploaded to TikTok earlier this month and took off when it was attached to the song "Ela Vira Mortal" by MC Zudo Boladão.
The video is mainly used in an ironic sense to claim that someone got jacked by doing the shown workouts. Some of the workouts humorously look like they could be used in another situation, which many have been quick to point out. Others are showing themselves doing the workouts in an attempt to really put the 5×30 method to the test. Who knows, it could turn out to be the miracle workout we've all been waiting for.

I Love My Wife!!!
The I Love My Wife!!! redraw format has been gaining steam this week as artists apply all their favorite characters to this decidedly pro-wife guy meme.
The original piece of artwork was posted to X by @astralbaes back on December 5th and very quickly became the subject of redraws thanks to its cute, relatable premise and its simplistic style that almost begs you to draw over it. The art has inspired tons of redraws over the past few weeks and is still going strong right now as it spreads from X to Reddit to Tumblr and beyond.
It's a simple format with simple instructions: take two characters who love each other, draw them in the same pose as the original art and with the same caption and post. Since December 5th, we've seen just about every anime, video game and TV show character attached to the format, but if you want to get in on it, you're not too late. Happy drawing, wife guys.
