There were a lot of great memes this year, but as is often the case, some of the memes we enjoyed the most earned us a good, swift bonk on the head.

Whether you were a boykisser enjoyer, an Axel in Harlem lover or, *gulp*, a Mori Calliope fan, there was something to bring joy to every charged-up meme lover in 2023. Just make sure you only enjoy these memes in the comfort of your own home — especially you Mori Calliope fans.

Here, in no particular order, are the most bonk-worthy lewd memes of 2023.

Axel in Harlem

Axel in Harlem isn't just one of the most bonk-worthy memes of the year, it's also one of the biggest memes of the year overall. This meme is focused on a brief clip from the adult gay cartoon Axel in Harlem that depicts an exceptionally double cheeked up man strutting down the street as a group of men stare in amazement at the "cake" placed before them.

The meme was popularized on TikTok earlier this year along with the song "Ballin'" by Mustard and Roddy Rich and then on social media at large as it inspired redraws and reanimations replacing all the characters with ones from various fandoms.

In short, the meme essentially ended up being 2023's version of He Wants To Order and easily became one of the most prevalent memes of the year.

Boykisser

Boykisser didn't have to go down as horny as it did, alas, here we are. The meme actually started gaining steam at the end of 2022, but it wasn't until this year that it really found its wings.

The meme hinges on a GIF of a furry cat character by artist Mauzymice captioned, "oooooo you like boys ur a boykisser," with hypnotic eyes, as if trying to hypnotize the viewer into wanting to kiss boys. "Boykisser" is a term that's typically used in the LGBTQ+ community.

Throughout the year, memes featuring the cat character became some of the most prominent reaction images online. Beyond that, the meme sparked a golden age for the cat, who quickly became the subject of endless piles of lewd fan art.

While not every iteration of this meme was lewd, or even horny, there's no avoiding the aura of horniness that constantly surrounds it, making it one of the top bonk-worthy memes of the year.

Plap Plap Get Pregnant

The Plap Plap Get Pregnant meme took off on X / Twitter back in May. It's one of those memes that lots of people despised with every fiber of their being, while others seemed to think it was the funniest thing on earth.

Basically, it consists of typing a string of the phrase "PLAP GET PREGNANT" over and over again on a piece of lewd imagery or fan art depicting the character you want to get pregnant. That, or you can attach it to something totally innocent if you want to get all ironic with it.

The phrase has managed to stay somewhat relevant months later, with new posts using it still popping up online seven months later. It's even inspired some variations in which "plap" and "get pregnant" are replaced with less horny words, like a drawing showing Centurii kneading dough captioned "plap plap get gluten." Who said horny couldn't also be wholesome?

Guy Tired After Sex

Back in April, a Facebook user shared an image of a zombie-like man lying in bed, completely drained, while an energetic, enthusiastic-looking girl sits on the bed next to him flashing a peace sign.

This stark, iconic image quickly brought dirty thoughts to the minds of its viewers, who imagined the man was tired after a ravenous bout of sex with the girl. Then, the redraws started coming in.

This was easily one of the biggest redraw memes of the year, resulting in tons of drawings of post-sex anime women glowing over what might as well be a corpse.

Artists were quick to depict all their favorite characters as the drained man and energetic woman, making extra sure to make the dude in bed look as much like that 163-year-old man as possible.

Mori Calliope Horse Audio

Perhaps the less said about the Mori Calliope Horse Audio the better, but it was a standout meme back in January, so it deserves a place on the list. This meme is based around a series of deepfake audio files that depict VTuber Mori Calliope (and others) doing illegal things to a horse in graphic audio detail.

These audio clips started going around on 4chan's /vt/ board in January and before long, spread widely across social media, inspiring memes about Calliope and the horse and vague posts alluding to "the horse audio" that practically begged those out-of-the-loop to search it up.

Baldur's Gate 3 Bear Sex

Yes, this is yet another meme about people loving animals "too much," but we promise it's the last. This meme stems from a moment in the massively popular game Baldur's Gate 3 in which, if you play your cards right, you can get it on with a druid in their bear form.

When the bear scene was revealed at a Larian Studios panel in July, everyone freaked out, resulting in lots of excitement, memes and enthusiasm online.

As it went viral, people seemingly couldn't wait for that bear to dig its claws into them while a squirrel looks on in horror, revealing a strange side of social media that definitely only wants to get with bears in an ironic sense.

Adidas Sports Bra Medium Support

In August, a simple photograph of two Adidas store mannequins advertising two medium support sports bras for women with very differently sized busts went viral.

Not only did it go viral, but it sparked something in artists and meme creators across social media who just couldn't help but draw various characters with drastically different figures in the sports bras, resulting in a massive redraw trend.

If you can think of an often thirsted-over character, there's probably a drawing of them wearing an Adidas sports bra in what ended up being both a bonk-worthy and funny meme trend.

NPC Streaming (Pinkydoll, Glizzy Overdrive, More Bullets)

There's nothing inherently sexual about NPC streaming from an outside perspective, but the way many NPC streamers go about their streams is, arguably, just a little bonk-worthy.

Many media outlets even ran with calling the trend a "fetish," presumably based on the joy one gets from paying a good-looking person to act in a specific way that often carries some sexual double-entendre.

Examples include Pinkydoll and her ice cream eating, the glizzbot and his insatiable appetite for "hot dogs" and, of course, @isrhaul and his infections "I need more bullets" streams that took over social media for a good chunk of mid-2023.

It's hard to say if the NPC trend is dying down at this point, but the impact it made on TikTok is undeniable, just like the stacks of money it made for the creators who struck while the iron was hot.

777 Filters (Fav Peach, Fav Hello Kitty)

This year was an interesting one for TikTok overall. Not only did the platform experience the wonders of NPC streaming, but it also became the victim of the devious 777 filters.

These were filter games in which players were asked to choose their preference between two pieces of a given character's art, only to be met with rule 34 of that character after making their first choice.

These filters were everywhere around May, with some of the most popular examples featuring Princess Peach and Hello Kitty.

It goes without saying that these filters break multiple rules in the TikTok terms of service, but somehow they still pop up from time to time. With Christmas right around the corner, which last year led to the infamous December 22 incident, these filters might play a big part in making 2023's December incident a very real thing.

Foopah Trend

It may have happened all the way back in January, but TikTok's Foopahh trend will go down as one of the most wild times in TikTok history. This trend had women, mostly OF models, "discreetly" flashing viewers using things like mirrors in the background or dark closets to conceal the details of their most intimate parts and avoid getting hit by the auto censors.

Surprisingly, it worked, leading to hundreds of videos with explicit nudity and massive view counts living on the app, sometimes for weeks at a time.

The trend inspired its own subreddit, became the talk of social media and inspired a lot of shock from casual TikTok viewers who couldn't believe what they were seeing on their For You pages. It also inspired a lot of memes about the trend in which the uploader makes it seem like they're making a Foopahh video, but then fakes the viewer out.

This is about as bonk-worthy as it gets and it's sure to stand as one of the strangest trends in TikTok history going forward.

Honorable Mentions

Your Milkers Look Heavy

Another redraw trend, Your Milkers Look Heavy didn't quite reach the heights of the Adidas sports bra, but it certainly left its mark. This meme features a character from a given fandom reaching up at the viewer, who takes the POV of someone with an ample bosom, captioned, "your milkers look heavy ma'am let me hold them."

Like other redraw trends, this one led to a ton of examples of your favorite anime and fandom characters with absolutely braindead looks on their faces as they think about only one thing — the pursuit of boobas. It's likely this one could have a second wind in the future and reach the heights it deserves.

I Am Thinking of Having Breast Reduction Surgery

This is yet another redraw trend based around big honkin' breasts. In particular, the redraws are based on a 2012 webcomic in which Luffy from One Piece desperately begs Nami not to get breast reduction surgery in what has to be one of the funniest panels in amateur webcomic history.

The image was rediscovered on X back in March, where it took on a life of its own as users redrew Luffy and Nami as new characters.

The way the character begs, "please don't," with such genuine desperation when told about the breast reduction is just too funny not to become a meme, making this format stand out as one of the more iconically funny images to come out of 2023.

With Axel in Harlem being played with Ballin by Roddy Rich and Gojo Backshots being played with Ricch Forever by the same artist, I think we as a collective should venture to make every song in Roddy Rich's discography be associated with sodomy in some way. For the bit.
