Bloomberg And Trump Engage In Just Horrible Star Wars-themed Twitter Beef
Mike Bloomberg, who was said to have joined the 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary with the sole intent of ousting President and fellow New York billionaire Donald Trump out of office, dropped out of the race Wednesday after a disappointing Super Tuesday which saw him win only American Samoa. Trump, ever the one to gloat about the failure of his enemies, naturally took to Twitter to rub it in his face.
What followed was a brutally cringeworthy Twitter war where the two traded Star Wars themed barbs for the world to witness in despair. First, Bloomberg compared himself to Obi-wan Kenobi saying, "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine."
Some pointed out that Obi-wan literally dies in shortly after saying this, but Obi-wan did use his posthumous influence to help the Rebel Alliance defeat the empire, similar to what Bloomberg seems to be doing by using his oodles of cash to fund Democrats, so while the comparison is a bit wonky, it gets a pass. However, Trump (or more likely, his social team), far-more seasoned in the art of dunking on Twitter, frankly annihilated Bloomberg's attempt to out-snark him. Trump responded with a clip from Spaceballs showing Lone Star keeping Darth Helmet at bay with his hand.
Bloomberg should have simply stopped tweeting here, but we don't live in such a world. Instead, Bloomberg responded by tossing a kitchen sink of pop culture references into one video spliced with Trump crowing about his chances in the upcoming general election.
It's the equivalent of an essay-long response to someone tweeting Kung Pow Penis. Credit where it's due, Trump won this miserable Twitter battle, but with Biden or Sanders looming, the victor of the Twitter war between Trump and Democrats is still unknown.

This is like watching Palpatine duke it out with Snoke. Whoever wins, the rest of us lose

We're finally there. The president actually made (or had made) a meme and posted it. Not a repost but an original. We made it.
