For many of us, this past weekend was an extra-long one. It was one full of family, friends, food and for some, fighting over sales or fighting local ordinances over gathering sizes. However, that wasn't the only kind of fighting going down over the weekend. In a challenge of man's hubris versus his own unmitigated audacity, Mike Tyson was going to go back into the boxing ring after nearly two decades of retirement.

Surely that level of high octane action would be the talk of the town for days to come, but no, something much bigger happened to capture our interest, a new meme was born from the remnants of two older ones: the Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson Fight, which became the most-talked-about thing, though it wasn't the most memed thing of the weekend. That honor goes to My Little Pogchamp, which has been growing in interest by the day. A close third place is My Parents at Age 29, which shows the increasing contrast between generational society.

Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson Fight

The Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson Fight was the fight immediately before the title card fight, an exhibition match between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Junior. The idea behind the fight was a rather simple one … if Logan Paul can fight KSI multiple times then why not have Jake Paul also fight a highly publicized event. For some unknown reason, it was decided that Nate Robinson, the retired Basketball player, would have his debut match against Paul before the Tyson fight, despite Paul already having professional fighting wins under his belt. After two rounds of fighting, Paul knocked Robinson out cold and laid him out flat on the ground, which spawned many chances for memes and tweets to be made at Robinson's expense.

My Little Pogchamp

My Little Pogchamp started out as a normal anime meme image of Ryoko from Kill la Kill but thanks to gothmei, it turned into an audible meme that spread rapidly. This isn't the first time that an anime girl saying something meme related has been spread around, but this one uses Pogchamp, one of the most famous Twitch emotes in history. This meme quickly spread to include other characters saying stylized versions of the saying … and more are added each day.

My Parents at Age 29

My Parents at Age 29 is a panelless Wojak comic depicting the difference between two generations. It is often done in a self-deprecating way, such as saying that the Yes Chad had parents that accomplished more than him at the same age, often with Trad Girl being a part of it. This is another powerful force in the revitalization of Rage Comics, which has been seeing this decades-old format come back stronger and stronger by the month, like a meme Ouroboros. While memes depicting the difference between generations isn't new and certainly were made more mockingly against Boomers, but this is one taking a more serious, less dismissal tone toward the older generation.
