So, iCarly’s reboot has had its first season, and we’re not sure what to think about it. It’s like watching our childhoods slowly lose innocence just like we did, though real life is a lot more existential and depressing, while Carly can pick up her show where she left off and carry on like nothing happened. With Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainor in their original roles, our expectations were already confusing, and the show lived up to it. In tone, it’s very similar to its predecessor, but now we get to hear Carly and her friends cuss once in a while, which is strange, to say the least.

Critics and former fans of the show are divided on its merits, but with a 100 percent fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. For many of us who grew up watching the original show as children, it feels as if iCarly grew up alongside us. As a generation that survived off memes and internet jokes, this show that focuses heavily on both has predictably evoked countless viral reactions. Here are some of the best memes from the first season of iCarly’s new reboot.

In this episode, Carly goes viral as a meme, and the writers even have the nerve to mention her image trending on "IMemeDB." You know they’re talking about Know Your Meme. These guys once had a whole crossover episode with Jimmy Fallon, but we’re still watching behind the shield of anonymity like The Office’s Jim peering through the blinds.

But here at Know Your Meme, we appreciate the effort this episode puts into representing the real-life "meme economy" and shows how Carly deals with the drama of becoming a meme, from selling T-shirts to inadvertently causing a rift between her and her brother due to the meme’s hurtful nature. It’s not far from unrealistic, but that may be due to the fact that Miranda Cosgrove herself has been a part of memes before.

Her most famous meme by far is an image of her on Drake and Josh, in which she holds a drink and says "interesting" in response to her research on a computer. In this episode, Cosgrove recreates this meme in a scene in which she searches herself on not-Know Your Meme, reacting very similarly to the way she did in the original meme, even with a drink in hand for good measure. This obviously became a huge meme, showing the before and after images side by side in most cases. But it’s not the only meme from the episode, as Carly’s line "You gotta switch it up on a bitch!" really caught a lot of people off guard.

Most Meme Potential: Episode 2: "iHate iCarly"

Prepare yourself, because we’re about to talk about furries. Sitting down to watch a reboot of iCarly, I don’t think any of us were expecting to see this subject represented so clearly by our favorite childhood actors. Furries are a subject that we already hear a lot more about than we needed to. But our childhoods have been dramatically altered by the realization that the iCarly universe is aware of the existence of furry fetishists. Early in the episode, Laci Mosely’s Harper stumbles on Carly in a bunny suit, Freddy beside her. She first asks if it’s a "furry thing," then says, "Don’t worry, I’m not here to kink shame your fursona."

This line has obviously been quoted thousands of times, and the writers of the show absolutely knew they were creating a meme here. Later, Harper scares a date out of her apartment by apparently using the furry costume for sexual purposes, which we thankfully do not hear about in more detail. As far as the internet is concerned, nothing else that happens in this episode matters (something about Carly dating an internet troll?), and the only thing we can remember is seeing Carly’s newly-introduced best friend trying to seduce someone with a bunny suit. The things we’ve seen cannot be unseen, and memes won’t let us forget about it, either.
