Emily Gemma and Caitlin Covington will now be forever known as the iconic Christian Girl Autumn women thanks to one 19-year-old Twitter jokester named Giovanni. Although there were many mean-spirited jokes made at their expense, the two have been able to clear things up on Twitter and laugh it off.

According to Buzzfeed News, the college teen responsible for the original post wanted to add his own twist to the Hot Girl Summer trend and did a quick google image search for "cute church outfits."

Luckily, he found a picture of Emily Gemma and Caitlin Covington, two internet-savvy influencers able to defend themselves and gracefully answer Twitter questions. According to Covington, the picture is from a blogging trip three years ago where they mainly took a series of fall photos. Both girls agree now that the outfits are outdated and directed users to their respective blogs Southern Curls and Pearls and The Sweetest Thing for examples of their current style. Though, outfits were the subject of the photo's least offensive comments.

Though some might have taken serious offense to these Twitter comments Emily Gemma told BuzzFeed “I’m white and Christian but none of the tweets were accurate. I laughed at all of it but…none of it’s true. We don’t ever want to speak to the manager!” They went on to specifically answer questions about their views on Twitter.

I'm trying to work out why Homophobia is one of the tags yet this meme started as taking potshots at random white christian women for fun.
I think how it started is a bigger part of the article than one of the questions they answered.

Nothing wrong with being Christian

It's simultaneously funny yet alarming that a majority of people in the comments expected Father Maxi to be a pedophile, when the episode was clearly trying to subvert the trope. Butters and Maxi shared a wholesome friendship and there was nothing wrong with that. The episode plays the crisis for the laughs, but in the end tries to reassure you that there's always someone there like Maxi who is trying to tackle the issue. His character really evolved for the better.

Ugh the first half is pretty horrible. Like really people read ‘White Christian Woman.” And write that as a response! I can’t believe I’m saying this but I expect better from the internet! We aren’t full of hateful people! Imagine that but replace the woman with any religion, minorlity, or gender! It would look just as wrong!

Least the woman put up a good response against this. Glad this went an unexpected turn then another fight. Good on them for being fairly decent people unlike the first tweets.

You must be new here.
It's okay when you do it to white Christians.

No I’m sorry I’m not joking. I’ve been around the net a long time and know how it react to certain events. It only stayed that way before the the rest of the internet, let’s say the rest of Twitter, found out and caused a different reaction. If these girls didn’t say something we would of had another big fight or basically a different conclusion.

You can almost sense these autists lining up to hurl rocks at these girls because they may not espouse the mainstream political agenda. Fucking Twitter vultures.

Christian girls become a meme because some idiots ironically stereotyped them to be bigoted. The girls out-meme the twitter shit-storm and gain popularity by "reviewing" their memes with a good attitude.

Basically what I am trying to say is Twitter somehow got out-memes by two normies, further proving Twitter is the worst social media site in existence.

>implying that twitter isn't also full of normies

That's the nicest way for a mean-spirited meme to backfire.

Hyval the Emolga

Well geeze, that's a rather mean spirited "meme". Good that they could just laugh it off, I guess.

On one hand, this is one of the stupidiest Twitter memes I've seen in KYM. Is just a thread!

On the other hand, both girls are hot MILFs, I'd convert to their religion so hard to hold their hands.
