MCU, Officially, Has Spider-Man No More
Bad news, true believers, Spider-Man will no longer appear in films connected with the MCU. Any prevailing hopes that Sony and Marvel might still work out a deal for Spider-Man exploded this weekend after Entertainment Weekly released an interview with both Spider-Man star Tom Holland and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.
Appearing at Disney's D23 Expo this past weekend, Holland told EW, "Basically, we’ve made five great movies. It’s been five amazing years. I’ve had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. It’s going to be so fun, however we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we’ll find new ways to make it even cooler."
Things got even worse when Feige basically confirmed Spidey's out. He said, “We got to make five films within the MCU with Spider-Man: two standalone films and three with the Avengers. It was a dream that I never thought would happen. It was never meant to last forever. We knew there was a finite amount of time that we’d be able to do this, and we told the story we wanted to tell, and I’ll always be thankful for that."
Holland's comments definitely make it seem like the movies would be "cooler" without Nick Fury or Tony Stark, which, honestly, might be true. It'd be nice to see a Spider-Man film that stars Spider-Man for a change. But for everyone looking forward to Spidey leading up a new crossover to follow the Avengers, don't hold your breath. Instead, you can expect Holland to appear in films alongside Tom Hardy's Venom and Jared Leto's Morbius, which is somehow coming out next summer. On the other hand, Feige indicates that they intended to tell a story that ended on a banger of a cliff-hanger that featured the greatest cameo in the MCU's history. So ¯\(ツ)/¯.
How are fans taking the news? Well, if this Spider-Man memorial left outside of D23 is any indication, not well.
For those bereaved fans, things will be ok. There will be more Spider-Man movies and more chances to see him interact with all the characters you love (as long as their names aren't "Happy" or "Bucky Barnes"). Sony has made great Spider-Man films in the past, including the two absolute best ones: Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which will almost certainly now feature Tom Holland.
Mr. Rogers always said that in tragedy we must "look for the helpers." Enter: Jeff Goldblum, who spoke to Variety on the matter. In his shamanic wisdom, Goldblum calmed a weary nation and said, "I'm not a business person. Whatever you say is Greek to me. The mountains of Broducciore, and I don't know. I'm sure it will all work out."

Friendly reminder that the reason why Sony even let Spiderman join the MCU in the first place is because The Amazing Spiderman 2 was such hot garbage that barely turned a profit. They knew they couldn't make good Spiderman films so they left it to the pros. Now that Spiderman is stuck back with Sony expect the same level of quality as before. Here's what goes through a Sony Producer's brain while making a Spiderman film.

So, not with any of the characters we actually love? Honestly, 'don't worry because Sony will still make Spiderman movies that awkwardly chop off most of the existing universe and add in Jared Leto' isn't really much of a consolation. I don't really want to see these butchered movies that badly.

Disney: "All we need to do is let fan outrage bring them back to the bargaining table and-"
Sony:"I'm sorry, did you think that sort of pathetic manipulation tactic would actually work? please, that's never going to happen. why you ask? BECAUSE FUCK YOU THAT'S WHY!!"
Disney:"FUCK"

I see. So now Tony and the Avenger thing is consider never happen in the new movie? And his personal support since the first movie are not allowed to be even mentioned anymore? The new Spider-man whole story was based on MCU plot, you can't just simply remove that and still got a working story.
I would rather see a new Spider-man instead, or even sequel to Amazing is fine. But to cling on MCU Spider-man is just a bad move. This Spider-man whole personality is "Tony's kid", without Tony he is just barely have anything else to show and I don't think people would be interest with whatever Sony can come up with.

Anybody else wishes that Spider-Man would be owned by no one?

I have no idea why Disney didn't settle with the 25-75 split agreement; they already got all the merchandise revenue, and the few hundred-million not gained between that deal and a 50-50 split would mean nothing to them

some reports says they actually asked for a 30-70 split, not 50-50, but i don't know how reliable they are

On the one hand: It's nice to see the Mouse eat shit.
On the other hand: We just got J.K. Simmons back as J. Jonah Jameson.
