Lil Nas X Drops "Panini" Music Video, Fans Press Memes
Following last week's near theft of the MTV VMAs, Lil Nas X, everyone's memer-turned-rapper, is back with a new music video and, apparently, a time machine.
The new, official video for "Painini," the second single of on X's debut EP 7_, takes its not from the old west but from rather 2049…_Blade Runner 2049. Directed by Mike Diva, the video follows actress Skai Jackson's attempts to shake the trail of a holographic Lil Nas X.
It should come as no surprise that the video's violent-tinged sets, futuristic cyber suits and dancing androids inspired a host of memes as well. Maybe fans will follow Lil Nas X from the old west to the not-to-distant future.
People seem pretty sympathetic to Jackson's plight in the video. However, if she had just flashed her own classic meme, it probably would've thrown off the extremely meme-savvy rapper.
Of course, there's no one who could criticize or explain the video better than the man himself, Lil Nas X. And, boy, did he try. However, whether or not those thoughts are comprehensible is anyone's guess.
