While don't Google X trends have ruled the roost when it comes to memes about comedic Google search results, a fresh brand of Google result memes have been on the rise in recent years. The addition of Google's "featured snippets" program in 2014 has only added to the sometimes hilarious results one may receive for a search query.

From people looking up the Marathi name of tuna fish to people asking "How long do short people live?", Google memes have come a long way. Here's why you might have seen a screenshot of a result for the question "Can we go to Heaven with tattoos?".

What Was The Original Screenshot That Sparked The 'Can We Go To Heaven With Tattoos' Meme?

In February 2020, a Facebook page called Writophobia posted the earliest known screenshot of a Google search result for the query, "can we go to Heaven with tattoos." The "featured snippet" on Google, which pushed prioritized paragraphs to the top of a search, answered that people with tattoos, people who drink alcohol, eat too much pork or are short will not go to heaven.

How Did The Aforementioned Screenshot Turn Into A Meme?

The screenshot made the rounds on Reddit in the following years, often with an edit showing a reaction meme attached to the bottom of it. The reaction meme often encaptures a person's reaction to the news barring their entry to Heaven, or pokes fun at the entire situation.

The meme grew so popular that YouTuber Misan made a Team Fortress Two animation inspired by the viral screenshot.
