Why Are People Saying TikToker Mr. Prada Murdered His Therapist? The Theory About Baton Rouge Therapist William Nicholas Abraham's Death Explained
It's been speculated that TikTok influencer Mr. Prada is wanted for the murder of Baton Rouge, Louisiana therapist William Nicholas Abraham (aka Dr. Nick) after images of the investigation's "person of interest" were released by local news outlets.
Mr. Prada, also known as MrPrada, is an already infamous TikToker, known for his habit of joke-stealing and blatant copying which he's been unapologetic for. However, joke-stealing, although morally dubious, is not illegal, unlike what people are speculating that he did to the 69-year-old Abraham this week. Overall, it's unconfirmed if the suspect is Mr. Prada.
However, how did this rumor start? Where did the crime occur and who was therapist W. Nicholas Abraham? Let's explain.
Who Is Mr. Prada?
Mr. Prada is a 20-year-old TikToker who's somewhat infamous on the app for stealing the jokes of other TikTokers. In 2022, users noticed his bad habit and called him out for the multiple instances. In response, Mr. Prada was unapologetic and has maintained that tone ever since. He turned the bad reputation into one of his account's gimmicks.
Because Mr. Prada is not afraid to steal people's jokes, he never really runs out of content and can post videos at a rapid rate. For people unaware of his stealing, they follow him, and he's racked up quite a large number of followers over the years.
As of October 2024, his two primary accounts, @mr.prada458 and @mr.prada456, have over 4 million and 3 million followers, respectively. He's posted on TikTok as recently as Sunday.
Who Was Therapist William Nicholas Abraham?
William Nicholas Abraham (also known as W. Nicholas Abraham, Nick Abraham or Nicholas Abraham) was a therapist who operated out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Abraham was a frequent guest on the local Louisiana TV show Weekends With Whitney where he went by Dr. Nick.
According to his website, Abraham was a self-proclaimed "life coach, licensed professional counselor, motivational speaker, recording artist, author, teacher and trailblazer."
In 2015, Abraham was arrested for allegedly abusing one of his 11-year-old patients. Although concerning, nothing ever came of the arrest, according to local news reports.
What Happened To Therapist William Nicholas Abraham?
On Monday, the body of William Nicholas Abraham was found on the side of Highway 51 in Tangipahoa Parish, LA, having succumbed to injuries caused by blunt force trauma. Abraham was 69 years old at the time of his death.
The local Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department launched a full-scale investigation into what they deemed a homicide. The Sheriff's Department also released photos of the main "person of interest" in the case thus far, who was the last person seen driving Abraham's car. The person pictured reportedly swerved a traffic stop, crashed the car and then fled the scene.
Why Are People Saying That Mr. Prada Murdered His Therapist?
Internet users believed that the "person of interest" pictured in the investigation's CCTV footage was Mr. Prada himself. The photos of the suspect went viral on Twitter / X on Monday, leading to viral posts, memes and reactions, likening the guy to Mr. Prada.
Some internet users likened Mr. Prada's recent repost of an SA awareness video to a possible motive in the investigation. If Dr. Nick was Mr. Prada's therapist, he also could have been abused by the man.
However, all of this is speculation so far. It's very early in the open case file. Regardless, many of TikTok's talking heads are already convinced that Mr. Prada is guilty.
If true, Mr. Prada's infamy would only grow, and grow stranger, possibly usurping other "TikToker turned murderer" stories like Ali Abulaban's horrific 2019 case.
