One might say that Fruitsnacks is the Hawk Tuah Girl of underground rap, at least according to her slew of fanboys on TikTok who are obsessed with the e-girl's every Iip dub videos and other content.

The 20-year-old influencer originally gained fame in 2023 but largely built her public image in 2024, amassing over 203,000 followers by November. She's collaborated with trendy rappers and fashion designers.

In turn, she's become the subject of memes as her username is added to brainrot slang overload posts.

Although she's everywhere, many people don't know much about her. Let's explain who Fruitsnacks is and why she's gone viral.

Who Is Fruitsnacks?

Fruitsnacks' real name is Erica. She's 20 years old and seems to reside predominantly in Los Angeles.

Fruit, for short, is a big rap fan. In an interview with Hyperpop Daily from this week, she revealed that, when she was in 7th grade, her mom put SoundCloud legend Lil Pump on her birthday cake.

Not much else is known about Fruitsnacks. She's only received notable attention recently and, in the aforementioned interview, she and co-guest Lil Mosey talk more about rizzing up gyatts and Galaxy Gas than themselves.

How Did Fruitsnacks Go Viral?

Fruitsnacks shared her first, still-viewable TikTok video back in July 2022. It didn't amass major views and likes, but it outlined her format for success. In it, she's lip-syncing a sped-up Ken Carson song.

In the following years, she further capitalized on TikTok's interest in underground rap which, of course, overlaps with her own interest in the genre.

Fruitsnacks' profile really popped off when she began collaborating with other underground rap and fashion influencers who were also late members of Gen Z. Namely, she began making videos with Diddybop and Henry Kava's crew who, back in late 2023, skyrocketed in clout points.

In March 2024, Fruitsnacks reached over 100,000 followers on TikTok. Going into the year, her following grew as her public image became omnipresent on that one guy's For You page.

What Does Fruitsnacks Do?

A common question within Fruitsnacks discourse is, "What does she even do?" Many have said that she couldn't even change a tire, aiming at influencerdom, in general.

In her interview with Hyperpop Daily, she was asked what she does. Her answer was vague, saying that she does exactly what people see, as in, her videos on TikTok.

Like, yeah, she's an influencer. What she does is "influence." But she's started moving past that label. Last month, she dropped a song on streaming platforms called "HELLRAISER." In her YouTube music video, she's seen in Joker makeup, rapping the track on a beach.

Fruitsnacks also recently did a raunchy photo shoot with a major magazine. So, maybe her future is as a model instead of an artist. So far, she's left her future up to chance, leaving everything on the table.

What Are Some Fruitsnacks Memes?

Fruitsnacks has spawned viral memes because she's TikTok's it-girl at the moment. Her male fans like to joke about gooning to her or beg her (hopefully ironically) to release a JOI video.

Others have compared Fruitsnacks to Haliey Welch, the Hawk Tuah Girl. If Welch is for the mainstream Zynternet, then Fruit is for the underground … we don't know what to call them — that brand of male internet user, obsessed with Xaviersobased and Hood Irony. It doesn't have a catchy name yet.

The general consensus is that they're probably unemployed. They're tasked with hours and hours of free time to kill, most often filled with streaming Kai Cenat and edging to Fruitsnacks.

At least, this is what the memes purport — that intimately knowing who Fruit is is akin to the final stages of mom's basement syndrome.
