Dave Blunts is a 24-year-old underground rapper from Davenport, Iowa. He started producing music back in 2018 and grew a following over the next few years, but really started focusing on his music in 2020. Before going viral for his music, he actually went viral on Reddit for a meme about getting "finessed" and given a dollar bill with Barack Obama's face on it.

In 2024, Blunts' songs "The Cup" and "Talking to the Sun" started blowing up on TikTok after he posted videos rapping along to them. The former song, which has Blunts singing about his lean addiction, even got a shoutout from fellow artist Lil Yachty.

The virality of the songs led to interviews, a freestyle on the On The Radar show and an even more dedicated social media following.

Why Are Fans Worried About Dave Blunts' Health?

In early November 2024, an X user posted a video of Dave Blunts performing his song "The Cup" live. In the clip, Blunts is seen sipping from a styrofoam cup and sitting down in a chair while performing. This got a lot of viewers concerned for Blunts' health, presuming that he was unable to stand and perform due to his weight.

One X user posted, "Dude he can’t even stand during his performances and he’s like mid 20s I genuinely fear for his health" to over 160,000 likes, showing just how many people were concerned. Another posted, "I was there he made everyone turn the cameras off and had 4 security guards help him get up."

Beyond just his weight, some people are concerned about his purported lean addiction, which he frequently raps about. A few days after the video went viral, another video of Blunts sitting against a wall out of breath, supposedly after performing a concert, went viral, further spreading the concerns.

As recently as September 26th, Blunts has made posts on Instagram claiming he's trying to make changes to his life. These changes seem to be focused on his weight.

In one post, he shares photos of himself walking up and down stairs, writing, "Instead of taking the elevator I’m taking the stairs now I’m not use to the stairs so I got a little tired."

Blunts' health has been a problem in the past. He's even posted photos of himself recording songs from a hospital bed, although it's unclear exactly why he was in the hospital.
