Oomer Wojaks are possibly the most popular iterations of the 4chan-brewed style of meme comics, a resurgence of sorts of the Rage Comics that were so popular online ten years prior. A meme that first began with the 30-Year-Old Boomer and continued with the ever-popular Zoomer and Doomer iterations, the "Nooticer" is another entry into the Oomer canon.

But as is the case with many if not most 4chan memes, the origins of the "Nooticer" meme are wrapped in bigotry and anti-Semitic chatter. First posted online sometime in the early 2020s, the meme broke into mainstream slang in just a few years. Here's how people are the "Nooticer" Wojak online.

Where Did Memes About 'The Nooticer' Come From?

The "Nooticer" Wojak seemingly grew out of blackpilled and anti-Semitic communities on 4chan, where anonymous users' worries about being subject to "Jewish propaganda" took the form of a self-deprecatory meme. The earliest known iteration of the meme was posted to 4chan's /x/ board In September 2021, and again in December of that year.

By calling himself "The Nooticer," the anti-Semitic channer characterizes himself as someone who not only recognizes societal patterns that confirm his beliefs, but can't help himself from pointing out his thoughts to other people.

What Does 'The Nooticer' Mean?

This interpretation of the Nooticer is confirmed by an Urban Dictionary post by user, "a truth-shaped object," who defined the "Nooticer" as "an internet user who has been *noticing* societal patterns in a way that, if anyone found out, would make him demonized and stigmatized by the controllers of societal narratives." The user continues, saying the Nooticer is someone "who recognizes the ZOG, or (((them))), everywhere, and chuckles when he reads the 'early life' section on a person's Wikipedia article because 'every single time' the subversive actor is a 'Jew.'"

How Is 'The Nooticer' Meme Used Online?

The "Nooticer" came to be used as a euphemism for a blackpilled 4chan user quick to point out how something may confirm their own biases. This is evident in an April 25th, 2022, post where an anonymous user complained about a sudden influx of Jewish people on /pol/, to which someone responded by saying that "nooticing" them and avoiding their threads could help curb the "problem" (seen below).

But by 2023, the term "nooticer" began to fracture away from its antisemitic connotations. This can be seen in how the term was used on X / Twitter in 2023. In November of that year, X user @tulpapilled used the phrase "the nooticer" to caption a post that took note of the passage of time, while a post from March 2024 called Luffy from One Piece a "nooticer."
