Late last night, famous singer-songwriter Usher posted a TikTok video in which he was dressed like Satoru Gojo from the anime and manga Jujutsu Kaisen. Since Usher's unlikely cosplay, the fanbase (which is obsessed with the character) has gone ballistic.

There are a few moving parts to this developing story. First of all, the JJK fandom has been making memes about Gojo and Usher for quite some time already. Plus, Usher's post hints to some that Gojo might make an appearance at the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show in which Usher is the headliner. Although unconfirmed, it's a cool thought.

So, why exactly is Usher cosplaying as Gojo? What does he know about Jujutsu Kaisen and domain expansion? Let's explain.

Why Did Usher Cosplay As Gojo?

Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen have been making memes about Usher and Gojo since April of last year. These meme creators use Usher's song "Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home)" as the TikTok sound for many Gojo-related videos.

The mass usage of the song in the fandom has caused it to become fully associated with Gojo, as in, every time someone hears it, they automatically think of Gojo. This is both a blessing and a curse.

What's Usher's Gojo TikTok Video?

Last night, Usher posted a video of himself dressed like Satoru Gojo, wearing a black turtleneck jacket and blindfold. With his hands, he replicated Gojo's "Unlimited Void" technique: a staple of the character's power.

Usher's decision to cosplay as Gojo was likely inspired by his song's usage in the fandom's memes. With major meme trends like "Nah I'd win" and "Lobotomy Kaisen" coming from the fanbase recently, it makes perfect sense why Usher would try and get on their good side with viral marketing catered to them.

What Did Usher Spoil In His Gojo TikTok Video?

Although Usher had seemingly good intentions with his Gojo cosplay, many on the internet quickly realized that the singer might have spoiled a major plot point for fans not yet caught up.

One of the major moments in the manga this year was Saturo Gojo's death which earned countless memes once it happened as well as sad reactions from fans of the character.

In his TikTok video's caption, Usher wrote, "RIP Gojo," which obviously spoiled the news for those who haven't read the chapter yet. Inherently, the idea of getting spoiled because of Usher is majorly memeworthy.

In September of last year, the NFL announced that Usher would be headlining the upcoming 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show. In turn, many JJK fans immediately joked about Usher revealing himself as Gojo mid-set.

So, now that Usher's dressed up as Gojo so close to the Super Bowl date, fans are now seriously considering the possibility. Although it's unconfirmed, people can dream.
